Picture this: a child squinting at the chalkboard, struggling to keep up, falling behind not because they can’t learn but because they simply can’t see.

Over the past five months, our India team screened 15,377 school children across 45 schools in Telangana (a state of 47 million people in southern India where many rural communities still lack access to basic eye care) and changed that reality. 839 students received glasses, and 354 were referred for additional vision care. For many, it was their first eye exam ever.

“So much to celebrate here!” said GoodVision USA Executive Director Matt Gianino. “Not only is this amazing impact, but also proof of what can be accomplished when a few dedicated collaborators commit to doing something great.”

Those collaborators? Viveja IT Services, Hive Financial Systems, and members of our India Visionary Circle (IVC). The IVC is a dedicated giving community focused exclusively on expanding vision care across India, often called the “blind capital of the world” with the highest rates of preventable vision loss globally. India is our largest and fastest-growing program, and the need is massive.

This is the kind of momentum we’re building. Real solutions. Lasting change.
