For the first time, GoodVision has its own booth at the world’s premier eye health gathering — and we’re unveiling two tools that could change how the whole sector measures its work.

About the Event

The only global conference dedicated to ending preventable blindness

The IAPB 2030 IN SIGHT LIVE congress brings together leaders, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world with one shared goal: ensuring that good vision is available to everyone, not just those who can afford it. This year’s theme, “Unite for Impact,” centers on turning strategy into action ahead of a landmark 2026 Global Summit.

At least one billion people live with preventable vision impairment. Most of them are in low- and middle-income countries where GoodVision works. That’s why this congress matters to us — and why we’re bringing our newest tools to Nairobi.

What We’re Unveiling

Two tools built for the places where eye care is hardest to deliver

GoodVision operates in communities where there’s no electricity, no internet, and no local optometrist. Everything we build starts from that reality.

The GoodVision App (GVA)

Manages the full continuum of patient care, from screening through referral and follow-up. Built to run offline using NFC technology, it works in the most remote eye camps — no internet required. When connectivity is available, it enables telerefraction, connecting field technicians with remote specialists to improve diagnostic accuracy.

Vision Adjusted Life Years (VALY)

A new impact metric developed by GoodVision that quantifies what a pair of glasses actually does for a person. Similar to the QALY metric used in public health research, VALY measures how much someone’s vision improves and for how long — calculated in real time during patient care, and aggregated across programs.

“This is a tool from nonprofits, for nonprofits. For the first time, organizations doing this work will be able to compare results across programs and geographies in a way that funders and policymakers can understand.”
