Expanding Access to Eye Care in Rural Malawi

On February 28th, the GoodVision Malawi team loaded up a car full of gear and traveled to Naphungo village in Mulanje District as part of their Reach the Unreached Project. Thanks to a generous grant from Vision of Hope, the team spent the day providing free eye exams and prescribing glasses. By the end of the day, about 150 people received glasses that they would not have access to otherwise and headed home seeing clearly.

The Vision of Hope grant is fully designated to rural outreach and eyeglass distribution in Malawi, ensuring that care reaches the communities that need it most. GoodVision Malawi has been operating since 2014, and outreaches like this one are at the heart of that mission: bringing free vision screenings and glasses directly to people in underserved rural villages.
